Carol Quinn, Jimmy Page, Cronan O' Doibhlin |
In 2005 we began conservation work on the cartoon collection from St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral, Cork. The collection of the Architect William Burges, the cartoons are the full size originals of the stain glass windows. The Dean and Chapter recognized the need to preserve this archive. Under the direction of Richard Wood the archivist Carol Quinn of UCC secured heritage council funding.
The first selection of these conserved pieces was exhibited in Cork Public Museum. Opened by the musician Jimmy Page, the Led Zeppelin frontman owns a gothic mansion in Holland Park built by Burgess. The collection is now housed in the archives in the special collections department, UCC.
